🥘 Ingredients (8 to 10 servings)
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes
For the meat sauce
2 lb ground beef
1 can Italian tomatoes (about 796 ml)
1 bottle tomato purée or strained tomatoes (about 680 to 700 ml)
1 can tomato paste (about 156 ml)
1 Parmesan rind
1 to 2 tbsp our Les Savoureux Roasted Garlic seasoning
1 tbsp our Les Savoureux Chicken Broth mix
Salt and pepper, to taste
A drizzle of olive oil, if needed
For the lasagna
12 to 15 lasagna noodles, cooked or oven-ready depending on the type used
1 full container cottage cheese (about 500 g)
3 to 4 cups shredded mozzarella
½ to 1 cup grated Parmesan
Prepared meat sauce
🍳 Preparation
In a large saucepan, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
Drain excess fat if needed.
Add the Italian tomatoes, tomato purée, tomato paste, Parmesan rind, our Roasted Garlic seasoning, and our Chicken Broth seasoning.
Mix well.
Let simmer over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring from time to time.
The longer the sauce simmers, the more flavorful it will become.
Taste and adjust with salt and pepper if needed.
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a large lasagna dish, spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom.
Add a layer of noodles, a layer of meat sauce, then a little mozzarella.
Repeat the layers.
In the middle of the lasagna, add one full layer with the cottage cheese, then continue layering with noodles, sauce, and cheese.
Finish with a generous layer of sauce, the remaining mozzarella, and the grated Parmesan.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is nicely browned and bubbly.
Let rest for 10 to 15 minutes before cutting so the lasagna holds together well.

💡 Savoureux tip
Since our Chicken Broth seasoning already adds plenty of flavor and a bit of salt, I recommend salting only at the end, after tasting the sauce.
