CHILE CINCINNATI
Are you tired of the traditional chili con carne?
Do you want to give a new twist to this dish?
Do you know the Cincinnati chili ? Here is his little story :-)
This recipe was created by immigrants from West Macedonia in the 1920s.
It is a meat sauce with Mediterranean spices. She is originally from Cincinnati. This sauce is best served over pasta or hot dogs.
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs ground beef
4 cups of beef broth
1 small white onion finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 can of tomato paste of 177ml
1 C. tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp. tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
3 tbsp. Cincinnati Chili Mix
Salt and pepper to taste
A drizzle of olive oil
PREPARATION
In a cauldron, heat a drizzle of olive oil and brown the onions for a few minutes.
Add the garlic and sauté for a few more minutes (we always add the garlic later so as not to burn it, because it will give off an acrid taste).
Add the meat and cook it.
Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Serve over pasta of your choice or on zucchini spirals, in spaghetti squash or on hot dogs.
Sprinkle with grated cheese it's even tastier :-)
