Blueberry Dumplings đź’™

A cozy and traditional Quebecois dessert where fluffy dumplings steam gently in a sweet blueberry syrup. Easy to make, heartwarming, and perfect for sharing!
Ingredients
For the dumpling dough:

2 cups flour

½ tsp Dessert spice blend

2 tbsp sugar

4 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

ÂĽ cup butter

Âľ cup milk
For the blueberry syrup:

2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

1 cup sugar

â…› tsp Dessert spice blend

2 cups water
-
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions

Prepare the syrup
In a large pot with a lid, combine the blueberries, sugar, Dessert spice blend, water, and vanilla (if using). Bring to a boil over medium heat. -
Make the dough
In a bowl, mix the flour, Dessert spice blend, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the butter and work it in with your fingers until you get a crumbly texture.
Pour in the milk and stir just until the dough comes together. Do not overmix. -
Cook the dumplings
Once the syrup is boiling, reduce to a gentle simmer.
Drop spoonfuls of dough into the syrup (about 1 tbsp each).
Cover with the lid and simmer gently for 15–20 minutes without lifting the lid. The dumplings will puff up and steam in the syrup. -
Serve warm
Spoon into bowls and serve with a bit of syrup. Perfect with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
