Meat Pie with “Grandmother’s Blend” – Les Savoureux Style
A cozy, traditional Holiday meat pie filled with warm spices and comforting aromas.
The kind of recipe that fills the house with memories — simple, hearty and unbelievably delicious.
Ingredients
For the filling (makes 3 large pies or 4–5 smaller ones)
• 6 potatoes, cut into small cubes
• 5 lb lean ground beef
• 7 tbsp Grandmother’s Blend – Les Savoureux
• ½ cup beef broth
For the crust
• Homemade or store-bought pie dough
• (You can use rolled-out dough or pre-formed pie shells — no judgment 😉)
Preparation Steps
1. Prepare the filling
In a large pan, cook the ground beef and potatoes.
Add the Grandmother’s Blend and the beef broth.
Cover and let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.
Let the mixture cool completely in the refrigerator.
2. Prepare the crusts
Roll out the dough and line your pie plates.
• For very generous pies: make 3 pies
• For standard portions: 4 to 5 pies
(General rule: about 1 lb of filling per pie.)
3. Assemble the pies
Divide the cooled filling among the prepared pie shells.
Cover with the top crust and seal the edges by pressing with your fingers.
Cut a slit in the center to allow steam to escape.
4. Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until the crust is golden brown.
