Cajun Shrimp Canapés
Festive, fresh and full of bold flavor, these bite-size canapés are perfect for entertaining without the stress. Crispy sweet potato, creamy avocado and Cajun-spiced shrimp come together for a guaranteed wow in every bite.
Best of all? You can easily swap the base depending on what you have on hand.
🛒 Ingredients (makes about 12–16 canapés)
• Argentine shrimp
• Les Savoureux Cajun Spice Blend
• 1 ripe avocado
• 1 sweet potato, thinly sliced
• A handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
• Juice of ¼ lime
• A drizzle of olive oil
• Salt and pepper
Base options:
Roasted sweet potato (our favorite!), cucumber slices or endive leaves
👩🍳 Preparation Steps
1. Prepare the crispy base
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the sweet potato slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Drizzle with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper.
Bake for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning. Set aside.
2. Cook the shrimp
In a hot skillet with a drizzle of oil, sauté the shrimp with the Les Savoureux Cajun Spice Blend until pink, cooked through and fragrant.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. Prepare the avocado base
Mash the avocado with a fork.
Add the lime juice, fresh cilantro, salt and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
4. Assemble the canapés
Just before serving, spread a spoonful of avocado on each sweet potato slice (or cucumber/endive).
Top with a Cajun shrimp.
Garnish with a little extra cilantro if desired.
