Tandoori Marinade – A Classic Indian Favorite
Here’s a true classic of Indian cuisine: a tandoori-style marinade you can use with chicken, tofu, or even shrimp 🙂
It’s also the same marinade I use as a base for my Butter Chicken recipe, which you can find right here 🤗
INGREDIENTS
-
2 chicken breasts, cut into cubes
-
1 package of halloumi cheese, cut into cubes
-
6 tbsp plain yogurt
-
1 red onion, cut into cubes
-
1 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
-
3 tbsp of our INDIAN seasoning
-
Juice of ½ lemon
-
1 garlic clove, finely minced
-
Olive oil
-
Salt and pepper
PREPARATION
For the marinade
In a large bowl, add the yogurt, garlic, ginger, 2 tbsp of Les Savoureux Indian seasoning (of course!), lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Mix until you get a smooth, well-combined sauce.
Add the chicken and diced onions, mixing well to coat everything evenly.
Transfer to a resealable bag or an airtight container.
Marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours.
For the cheese
In a resealable bag or airtight container, add the halloumi cheese, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 1 tbsp Indian seasoning.
Let rest in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
For the skewers
Thread the chicken cubes, onion pieces, and halloumi cubes onto skewers.
This recipe makes approximately 4 large skewers.
COOKING
Cook the skewers on the BBQ over low heat for optimal cooking control.
Grill for about 10 minutes per side, or until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink.
Serve with your favorite salad 🙂 or a side of green vegetables.
