Chips de Brocoli Écrapoutillées au Méchant Piquant

🥦 Smashed Spicy Broccoli Cheese Chips
A simple, funky, and spicy recipe that turns a head of broccoli into a crispy, cheesy snack you won’t be able to stop eating. Bonus: you get to smash things with a glass. Yup, for real.
Ingredients (Serves 2 to 4)
-
1 head of broccoli
-
2 to 3 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan… or whatever’s lurking in your fridge!)
-
A drizzle of olive oil
-
Les Savoureux “Méchant Piquant” spicy seasoning, to taste
Instructions
1. Prep the broccoli
Cut the broccoli into small florets.
Blanch them for 1–2 minutes in boiling salted water.
Drain and plunge into cold water to stop the cooking, then pat dry thoroughly.
2. Lay them out
Spread the broccoli florets on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving a bit of space between each.
3. Smash ‘em!
Use a flat-bottomed glass to gently smash each floret. You’re not making pancakes—just nice little flattened bites.
4. Season & cheese it up
Drizzle with olive oil.
Sprinkle generously with Méchant Piquant seasoning.
Top each smashed floret with a good heap of shredded cheese.
5. Bake until crispy
Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, until the edges are golden, the cheese is melted and bubbly, and your kitchen smells like a snack party.
Let cool on the tray for a few minutes to crisp up even more.
6. Serve & devour
Dip in our homemade Ranch sauce (check the recipe here). Try not to eat them all straight from the pan !
