STUFFED BREADS
Who doesn't love stuffed buns?
With us it is one of the things that disappears the fastest on the buffet table!
The meat mixture can be made weeks in advance and frozen. My mother went so far as to stuff breads and frozen them. When night came, she put the frozen loaves on a cookie sheet and they were perfect.
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs ground veal
2 tbsp. STUFFED BREAD MIX
3/4 cup of ketchup (regular or sugar-free)
2 tbsp. yellow mustard
½ onion finely chopped
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
½ cup water or chicken broth.
Salt and pepper
PREPARATION
In a skillet, brown the onions for a few minutes, add the garlic and the meat for about 4-5 minutes. Add seasonings, ketchup, mustard and water or chicken broth. Let simmer for about 15 minutes over low heat.
Stuff the buns and put in the oven at 400 for about 10 minutes.
You can decorate small pieces of red peppers and green onions for a Christmas look!
