Foil-Packet Chuck Roast (Slow Cooker)

Ultra-tender, deeply flavorful and zero fuss: quick sear, wrap, let the slow cooker do the magic… then enjoy!
Ingredients :
• 1 chuck roast, about 2 kg
• Potatoes (baby or cut into chunks, as desired)
• 1 tbsp Smoked Salt – Les Savoureux
• 1 tsp Garlic Scape Salt – Les Savoureux (for the potatoes)
• 1 tbsp Roasted Onion – Les Savoureux
• 1 tbsp Roasted Garlic blend – Les Savoureux
• 1 tbsp STEAK Montreal – Les Savoureux
• 1 knob butter
• 1 drizzle olive oil
Preparation steps:
-
Build the foil packet
Lay out a large sheet of aluminum foil (or two overlapped for strength).
Pile the potatoes in the center and season with Garlic Flower Salt. Set aside. -
Sear the roast
In a large skillet, melt the butter with a drizzle of olive oil.
Season the roast with Smoked Salt, Roasted Onion, Roasted Garlic, and STEAK Montréal, then sear well on all sides until nicely browned. -
Assemble the pouch
Set the seared roast on top of the potatoes in the center of the foil.
Fold the foil up tightly all around to form a well-sealed packet. -
Slow-cook
Place the packet in the slow cooker.
Cook 8–9 hours on LOW or 5–6 hours on HIGH, until the meat shreds with a fork. -
Serve
Open the foil carefully (watch the steam), lightly shred the beef, and serve with the potatoes, spooning over the cooking juices.
💡 Savoureux Tip
I rarely cook with a slow cooker, but the foil packet lets me control doneness and keeps the meat juicy (never dry).
Sorry about the photo—this dish is so good I just had to share it anyway!
