Chuck Roast
When fall arrives, there’s no escaping it—I crave a good chuck roast.
This comforting dish brings me right back to my childhood.
But of course… I pimped it 😄
With this trio of spice blends, it becomes simply SAVORY and irresistible!
INGREDIENTS
-
Chuck roast
-
1 tbsp BBQ spice blend
-
1 tbsp STEAK spice blend
-
2 tbsp Roasted Onion spice blend
-
1 cup red wine
-
1 cup veal stock or chicken stock
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
-
Carrots to taste and/or root vegetables of your choice
PREPARATION
In an oven-safe dish, sear the chuck roast in a drizzle of oil and a knob of butter. Season generously on both sides with the spice blends. Remove the roast from the dish and set aside.
In the same dish, sauté the onion and garlic for a few minutes until fragrant.
Deglaze with the red wine and let it reduce by half. Add the veal stock, then return the roast to the dish.
Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 3 hours.
About 1 hour before the end of cooking, add the vegetables and continue cooking until tender.
Enjoy!
