Ham & Butternut Squash Lasagna (No Pasta)

Here’s my cozy lasagna recipe — a pasta-free version that’s creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor!
The natural sweetness of butternut squash pairs perfectly with savory ham, melted cheese, and our Les Savoureux spice blends.
A generous, comforting dish that’s perfect for easy weeknight dinners or relaxed weekend gatherings.
Ingredients – Base
• 1 butternut squash, peeled and thinly sliced
• 2 cups broccoli florets, blanched 2–3 minutes (fresh or frozen)
• 2 cups cooked ham, cubed or sliced
• 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blend)
• Our Garlic Flower Salt and pepper, to taste
• A drizzle of olive oil
Ingredients – Béchamel Sauce
• 4 tbsp (60 ml) butter
• 4 tbsp (60 ml) all-purpose flour
• 4 cups (1 L) milk
• 1 tbsp Roasted Onion Blend – Les Savoureux
• 1 tsp Roasted Garlic Blend – Les Savoureux
• 2 tbsp Ranch Blend – Les Savoureux
• Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation Steps
-
Make the Béchamel Sauce
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add the flour and whisk for about 1 minute to form a smooth blond roux (don’t let it brown).
Gradually pour in the milk, about ½ cup at a time, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
Continue cooking 6–8 minutes over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens and coats the spoon.
Season with Les Savoureux blends, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust as needed. -
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 350°F (190°C).
Grease a large baking dish (9 x 13 in.) and drizzle a bit of olive oil at the bottom.
Layer slices of squash, followed by ham.
Add another layer of squash, broccoli, a bit of cheese, and some béchamel.
Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with the remaining béchamel and a generous layer of cheese on top. -
Bake
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
Remove the foil after 30 minutes to allow the top to become golden and bubbly.
Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving so the layers hold together perfectly.
💡 Les Savoureux Tip
This lasagna tastes even better the next day!
-> If you don’t have ham, shredded cooked chicken works just as well!
